HSBC graduates raise £30000 for the Charity

On 5th.March, at the Sheffield headquarters of European IT for HSBC, Sue Tweedale, on behalf of NHF, was presented with a cheque for £30,000.

Sara Bown,Graduate Recruitment Manager instigated this fund-raising project as a new challenge for the graduate trainees. The project given to the trainees was to choose a charity and stage a week of events in order to raise £250 each, which, with matched funding, would raise a total of £18,000. Various events were undertaken including a skydive, silent auction, balloon race, car wash and selling chocolate bars with golden tickets (as in Willy Wonker and the Chocolate factory). The graduates attacked this project with great enthusiasm and achieved for more than expected.

Richard Dunlop, the Chief Operations Officer, and Sara Bown were delighted with the outcome of this project and will consider repeating it with subsequent groups. As the Charity has benefited from their work we would like to congratulate everyone involved on behalf of the twelve children who will go on the trip of a lifetime.

The picture below shows all the trainees with Mark O'Brien, the trainee who co-ordinated the project, in the foreground.
